TUCK SHOP
The Tuckshop at The Waldorf School & The High School at Rosemary Hill
Our Tuckshop provides fresh, wholesome, and nourishing meals for the children each day. All meals are prepared by the Rosemary Hill kitchen using quality ingredients, with a strong focus on balance, simplicity, and food that children genuinely enjoy.
Meals are served during first break (09h30 – 10h30) and are designed to be easy to eat, satisfying, and appropriate for an active school day.
Our Food Philosophy
At Rosemary Hill, we believe that food should be as natural and nourishing as possible.
We aim to:
Avoid highly processed foods
Minimise the use of preservatives, colourants, and additives
Be mindful of the oils we use in cooking
Prepare meals from scratch wherever possible
Our intention is not only to feed the children, but to support their overall wellbeing through thoughtful, wholesome food.
Our Approach
We see food as an important part of the school day — a time to pause, nourish, and enjoy.
Our goal is to provide meals that are:
Nutritious
Consistent
Child-friendly
Made with care
Menu
We follow a two-week rotating seasonal menu, offering a variety of meals including chicken, beef, fish, and vegetarian options.
The menu changes with the seasons to ensure that meals are appropriate — for example, warmer, more comforting meals in autumn and winter, and lighter meals in summer. In addition to main meals, smaller snack items such as muffins, popcorn, fruit, and other treats are available daily.
Termly Accounts
Parents can conveniently pre-book Tuckshop meals for the full term at a cost of R1650, which will be added to your school account.

Any allergies or special dietary requirements
Special Dietary Requirements (SDR)
We do our best to accommodate children with special dietary requirements, allergies, and food preferences. Our kitchen works from a structured daily system to ensure that all listed dietary needs are catered for safely and consistently.
Please note:
If a child is not listed under SDR for that day, they will receive the standard meal.
It is essential that all dietary requirements are clearly communicated to the school. This allows us to include your child in our system and ensure that the kitchen team is fully informed.
Important Notes
Meals are prepared in a working kitchen where allergens may be present
While every care is taken, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment
No food containing pineapples or nuts is ever prepared or served
